Studio Merk is the brainchild of Kris Mertens.
With a wide range of experiences under her belt, Kris decided to turn her hobby into her passion. To create beautifully unique pieces that will stand the test of time. Self-taught and with a strong aesthetic feel, she puts great thought into each and every design.
As the daughter of an antique restorer, she always had a knack for great design and quality products, together with an admiration for craftsmanship. Throughout her professional life, she pulled inspiration from years of owning a clothing store, after which she made the switch to interior design. With an in-house atelier to design and produce curtains, pillows, and furniture covers, she always sought to deliver a unique and bespoke solution for her customers. This experience and great attention to detail define her as a designer and creator.
